Sleep

Make sleep your superpower! Scientists say children need at least nine hours of sleep every night to feel happy and stay healthy. Getting a good night’s sleep is important for happiness. If we have too little sleep, it can make us grumpy, easily upset and less able to concentrate and learn. It can also mean we want to eat sugary foods that aren’t good for us and make us less likely to want to exercise.

Yoga

Yoga  can have a positive impact on your well-being:

  1. The breathing exercises and relaxation techniques learned from practicing yoga can help you with stress management.
  2.  Another benefit of yoga for children is that it helps you learn to be in the present moment while relaxing and gaining a peaceful state of mind.
  3.  Perfecting a pose or improving your balance and flexibility can give you a sense of personal empowerment.
  4. Going through a variety of yoga poses helps you learn what your body is  capable of doing.
  5.  One of the top benefits of kids’ yoga is that the different types of moves requires you to focus and work on  memory skills—which can translate over into academic performance.
  6. Yoga helps strengthen children’s growing bodies and helps you improve  flexibility, which can reduce the chance of injury.
  7. It also teaches you about discipline as you work on clearing your mind and perfecting the poses.
